Yesterday was the first day of fall. However, it still feels like summer in Ramona. I like to hope that maybe we will get some cooler fall weather and that when I order my pumpkin spice latte I won’t have to turn on the air conditioning in my car. J But seriously though, fall is the turning point. Kids are all back in school, holidays are coming and then we will be headed for a new year.
While I LOVE the holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas I am definitely an in the moment girl, and in this moment we are at the beginning of a Ramona weekend. I am hoping that you have found our weekend updates to be something just a little different, a little more personal, and a fun read. With that, here is what Ramona has in store for you this weekend.

Saturday September 26th
This is a day I am really excited about!
We start our day off with the Ramona Certified Farmers Market at the Kmart parking lot from 9am to 1pm. As always this is a great way to support our local merchants who show up every Saturday to bring you their awesome wares.
Did you know that every Saturday and Sunday at Salerno Winery from 2 pm to 5 pm Jorge D’Soria sings opera on the tasting patio? Wow how cool is that!
A Taste of Ramona and September Nights are going to be two GREAT events that I am really hoping that our AMAZING Chamber of Commerce puts on every year.
Taste of Ramona
Sounds yummy! From 1:00 5:00pm the Chamber is hosting this amazing event that allows you to purchase a ticket for $25 and visit many of our great local food and beverage establishments. How fun is that?! You get to go around town and sample the best that these businesses have to offer. After you are finished filling up on all of the good eats, your ticket provides you with free admission into September Nights.
There are so many of our great businesses participating in Taste of Ramona to make this a unique and fun experience for everyone. I just want to give you a peek at what Packards will be doing… Here is what Nora told me about Saturday, “We are going all out on Saturday with a Eiffel Tower, artist on our sidewalk, a French hostess, and crepes plus special drinks too. We will be Cafe Packards from 1-5.” I would like to add how excited she sounded about this!! I LOVE this!
This event sounds so fun! Starting at 5:00pm and running until about 10:00pm you can head over to the Old Post Office on 6th street and dance the night away. This event is a celebration of Ramona and will feature two live bands. There will also be food and craft vendors, a classic car show, and you will have the opportunity to get some adult beverages from our local brewers and vineyards. This is going to be an awesome block party like Ramona has not seen before. Tickets for this event are only $5, (if you have a Taste of Ramona tickets you get in for free).
How can you say no to either of these great events?
5th Annual Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center Chili Cook Off
If Chili is your thing then head over to the Ramona Community Center anytime from 5 pm to 10 pm to try some great homemade chili! Get dinner for $10! Kids under 11 are free and so are active duty military. Now that is awesome!!!
Sunday September 27th
I love Sunday! I don’t love that Sunday means the end of the weekend but Sundays just make me happy! This Sunday sounds like a great day to head over to Packards for some crepes or to the Ramona Café for some biscuits and gravy or one of Sonia Steiners famous sweet rolls.
If you get a chance please visit the Classic Car show at the Albertson’s parking lot from 4 pm to 6 pm. Take the family over to see all the great cars that come out every Sunday night!
Sunday night is also the Harvest Mood and Lunar Eclipse. Grad you telescopes and find a clear and dark spot and gaze away at this awesome event that won’t happen again for several years.
Wow!!! What a great and fun packed weekend ahead! I am so excited! As I wrap it up for the week I want to give a shout out to Sun Valley Florist. We wrote a featured business write up on Sun Valley Florist which you can read here. Did you know that Sun Valley Florist is now our only florist that is working out of Ramona that has a store that you can go into. Do me a favor if for any reason you need or want to send some flowers this weekend please stop in and see Frankie and support Sun Valley Florist. Frankie is a sweetheart and goes out of her way for her customers! Thanks!!!
You know that I love to end the weekend update with some Ramona trivia, so here is your trivia question for the week. (Prize will be a $10 gift certificate to Packards Coffee Shop - EMAIL your answers to email@example.com, be the first person to answer the trivia question correctly and you win!)
